“Now that we’ve taken the chicken off of the chicken”
I’m so excited to finally present the very first episode of the Cooking with Dr K Show!
When I was a kid I thought I’d like to be a teacher and have a cooking show. My mom used to watch cooking shows and she was always trying new recipes. She cooked dinners almost every night growing up and she was always collecting new cook books.
It isn’t a surprise that I now teach my patients how to use food and nutrition to restore health and function to their body’s. And this is where the inspiration for this cooking show came from. It can be overwhelming to eat differently than you’re used to. It can be frustrating to try new recipes and then not enjoy them – especially when they take hours to make. Where do you even start?
We are keeping things simple with easy recipes that help you get balanced meals with protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats as well as a wide variety of vitamins and minerals. These are recipes that are for real people who have busy lives and also know they need to eat healthy food. From newbies in the kitchen to pros – anyone can cook healthy recipes that taste good and leave you feeling good.
Each episode will air on Thursdays at 1 pm – perfect timing for inspiration for trying something new over the weekend. I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed making them – and all the funny moments of learning how to be on film.

The BARC Bowl is something I created for my nutrition programs because it was balanced and simple. Anyone following “macros” programs or not could get an easy balanced meal and most likely they would have almost all of these ingredients in their kitchen.
